Introduction
The Office of the County Administrator is seeking qualified applicants to play a key role in influencing the future of Loudoun County Government. The Office of the County Administrator is the highest-level management office of the Loudoun County Government and supports the Board of Supervisors in shaping the strategic and policy direction of the county. The County Administrator directs and supervises the day-to-day operations of all county departments and agencies, which are under the direct control of the Board of Supervisors pursuant to county ordinances and regulations.

Job Description
This recruitment is for two positions. Both positions will report directly to the Deputy Clerk to the Board.
The first position's primary responsibility is to provide clerk support to one of the Board of Supervisors' Standing Committees. Support to a Standing Committee includes the receipt, review, and distribution of meeting agendas, items, attachments and other materials, facilitation of County Administration's agenda item review and publication process and acting as the recording clerk during the meeting. This position provides assistance to the Deputy Clerk to the Board, supporting the FOIA Officer of Loudoun County with (i) processing County Administration, Board of Supervisors, and multi-departmental requests; (ii) archiving records in accordance with state and county requirements; (iii) coordinating and leading FOIA training sessions for department FOIA Custodians; and (iv) maintaining and updating the FOIA system software. The position also provides assistance to the Deputy Clerk to the Board to prepare minutes, and Copy Teste(s).
The second position's primary responsibility is to provide clerk support to the Planning Commission. Support to the Planning Commission includes the receipt, review, and distribution of meeting agendas, items, attachments and other materials, review and placement of legal advertisements for public hearings in local paper, preparation of public hearing posters, facilitation of Planning and Zoning's agenda item review and publication process, acting as the recording clerk during the meeting, and preparing minutes for approval following meetings. This position is located within the Office of the County Administrator; however, the position will be deployed to the Department of Planning and Zoning to support the Planning Commission's and department's routine needs.
Both positions will: (i) assist in the day-to-day operations of the Clerk's Office (manage Board of Supervisors' and Planning Commission's annual meeting calendar, meeting preparation and logistics, and follow up from Board/Planning Commission action); (ii) assist the Chief of Staff in coordination of Board and standing committee items (Administrative Items Report, Information Items, and Appointments); (iii) assist executive-level staff with review of Board/Planning Commission items and special projects as assigned; and (iv) provide additional assistance as needed.

- Experience in writing, reviewing, or publishing executive-level documents

- Ability to operate audio/visual equipment, record proceedings, transcribe adequate meeting notes, and learn new programs quickly.

Job Requirements
Requires any combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor's degree and two (2) years of related experience.
Special Requirements
Attendance at night meetings is required. Schedule of Board meetings and Planning Commission meetings are subject to change each year. Occasional work on weekends may be required depending on the Board's/Planning Commission's meeting schedules.
