SOLDOTNA IS A GREAT PLACE TO LIVE, WORK, AND PLAY Soldotna is located in Southcentral Alaska on the Kenai Peninsula, in an area referred to by locals as ‘Alaska’s Playground.’ The city sits along the banks of the world-renowned Kenai River, famous for its sport-fishing and outdoor recreational opportunities. Residents and visitors have access to top notch healthcare services, numerous shopping and dining amenities, and a wide variety of year-round outdoor recreation opportunities in every direction, including fishing, hunting, hiking, camping, berry picking, birding, wildlife viewing and more. The City of Soldotna boasts 11 parks - four with Kenai River access - and many maintained trails for walking, hiking, biking, running, snowshoeing, and cross-country skiing. Summers in Soldotna are beautiful with long hours of midnight sun, and our winters are relatively mild and generally snowy. Soldotna has a strong sense of community and is alive with activity throughout the year. A diverse cross section of community organizations ensure that our residents can choose from athletic events, scholarly talks and round-table discussions, film screenings and movie nights, and year round arts and food markets. Many local establishments offer evening bands and entertainment, and there is always live music at our many community festivals.
