Reporting to the Deputy City Manager, Corporate Services the City Clerk is responsible for the execution of various statutory duties in accordance with provincial legislation; for the planning, development and management of the Office of the City Clerk comprising: Council Secretariat; Corporate Records and Information Management and Archival Services; Corporate Risk Management and Insurance; Vital Statistics Registration services; Development Services, including the administration of subdivision, condominium and site plan agreements; Corporate Access and Privacy, Committee of Adjustment; Administering Municipal and School Board Elections; Facilitation of Corporate Policy development and administration, budget administration and Council Office administration.
Over your career thus far, you have proven your effectiveness and political acuity as a leader in municipal administration. You are a strategic thinker, relationship builder and active contributor to the leadership of your division/service. You possess strong management experience and sound judgement demonstrated through the development and mentoring of a multi-disciplinary team. Your comprehensive technical knowledge includes a familiarity with the council rules, by-law enforcement issues, knowledge of records and information management policies and procedures and various municipal legislation. Since earning your degree in Business, Political Science, Public Administration, or Law, you have acquired your AOMC and/or CMO designation and gained extensive experience ideally in a municipal unionized environment.
